In 1996 Steve was the first Victorian Police Officer to graduate from Western Oregon University USA as a certified polygraph examiner. After graduating Steve trained with and examined polygraph testing formats and behavioural interview techniques utilised by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Polygraph Unit, US Secret Service, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Steve is now the Managing Director of Australian Polygraph Services and consults his services to the public, government and corporate organisations worldwide.

Steve was also consulted by the South Australian Police to set up their Pre-employment polygraph screening program which commenced in 2008. Australian Polygraph Services has since conducted a number of pre-screening polygraph tests on selected applicants as part of their recruitment process.

Steve also consults his services to the Victoria Police homicide squad and the South Australian Police Major Crime Squad and has conducted polygraph testing for 76 high profile homicide cases and one serial killer investigation. Steve has also conducted a number of other high profile media polygraph tests and interviews including:
